THE COMBINED GRADUATION CEREMONY OF THE DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS’ COURSE 14/15 AND THE JUNIOR DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE BASIC COURSE 11/15

The Combined Graduation Ceremony of the Defence Intelligence Officers’ Course 14/15 and the Junior Defence Intelligence Basic Course 11/15 was held on 29 September 2015 at the SY Audu Hall of the College after 12 weeks of intensive training. The 2 courses assembled on 6 July 2015 with 22 students in the Defence Intelligence Officers’ Course and 14 students in the Junior Defence Intelligence Basic Course.

The Commandant of the College Commodore DH Moses encouraged the graduating students to continue to be good ambassadors of the College and always represent their respective Agencies. He reiterated that the tasks and challenges before the Defence Intelligence Agency, Ministries, Departments and Agencies that deal with intelligence and security issues are getting increasingly wider and enormous. On his own part, the Special Guest of Honour Air Vice Marshal MR Morgan ably represented by the Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Saliu, encouraged the graduating students to put in their best in their respective Agencies and also ensure that security of the country remains their priority.

Some graduating students received awards. The best graduating student was Mr. Adebanjo Baderin, while Mr. GK Gobat and Miss Tolani Kunlere came second and third respectively. The award for the best Chief of Defence Intelligence paper also went to Mr. Adebanjo Baderin. The award for the best student from other Departments and Agencies on the Defence Intelligence Officers Course was received by ASP SS Kwagbo, a personnel of Nigerian Prison Authority on the Course.  The prize for the overall best student in Junior Defence Intelligence Basic Course 11/2015 went to ………….. , ……………. came second while ………….. came third on the course.

The high point of the Combined Graduation was the introduction of the Commandant Award for the best Maskmen during a shooting exercise on the courses. This award was the first of its kind in the history of the College. There was also the Commandant Leadership Award to the course leaders of the respective courses. The Commandant Leadership awards were given to DSN EE Ukpong from NDLEA, the Course Leader for the DIOC class and ……….. the Course Leader for Junior Defence Intelligence Basic Course. Th graduation ceremony ended with a cocktail party held at College’s students’ canteen.
